Julie thanks for this reminder. I think that God led me here tonight to read this post. It is important to remember that no matter how much we may feel that our work is being neglected that He notices and that is really all that matters. We must continue on because we never know when something that we may say may make a difference in someone's life and then all of the hard work suddenly does not seem so hard after all.

I've experienced the frustrations of feeling my own efforts have gone unnoticed or unappreciated by others. When someone notices you and your efforts, you feel good...honestly, you feel more normal...human even.

You give good insight and wisdom, Julie. In whatever we do, it's so important that we try and do it as, "unto the Lord". In the end, we live to glorify Him...our audience of ONE. Having this mindset is never easy...in fact most days it probably feels impossible...I know that's true for me sometimes. But we have to be intentional about it...and God's acceptance is so much better!

Jeremy,

"The truth will set you free," that verse pretty much sums up about being completely raw and open. I think as believers, it's very difficult exposing it all to God and people in our life. I think it's the fear of being judged or being looked down on because we don't live up to their "standard." The worst thing we can do is lie to ourselves and bury our hurt, pain, and our sins.

I am so glad that you have reached a point in your life where you have been able to expose it all. Not just to God and your immediate circle, but to others as well. We never know the kind of impact we can have on the lives around us or complete strangers, until we learn to let go of the things that are holding us back and be set free from them. It's not only liberating but also confirms that we are not alone.

I pray that you continue being open and honest. Regardless of where in life God takes you, I hope that you can continue on the path of truth and freedom.

Thank you for your comment, God bless you!

You are so correct on this. For the longest time I've thought I had let things go and still hid behind the lies. In which those lies and sin turned into more lies and sin and so on. Here recently I exposed everything to God without fear. So much now that I'm even confessing out loud to believers and non-believers the things I did in the past and up till I gave it all to God. I'm even confessing to family, friends, loved ones, and strangers.

I am no longer ashamed of myself and hiding behind the lies and sins I did. I have no problem telling complete strangers who I don't know my lies and sins and tell them how God has given me a new beginning. I was living a 'Christian Life' in a reality of the world, now I'm living the 'Christian Life' of the Biblical world in God's word and for once doing what we our all called to do.

Thank you for this post among the others you have written. Also one of your other post gave me confirmation that God was speaking to me. Thank you.

John,

I meant what I said earlier, you really have inspired me. There is so much depth to you. I think you are an amazing husband and father and an example to a lot of Men out there that don't strive for perfection, but strive to be the best they can be in the eyes of their family. I have learned a lot from you in the past few months and I hope to learn a lot more. God bless you, John! :)

How wonderful, uplifting, and powerful it is when you can admit your truths not just to yourself but to the word at large. Not just admitting what's good, but accepting what's not. The truth shall set you free indeed. Amen.

Great post Julie. Humbled that I have in some way inspired you.

Wow, Julie! You hit it right on target! I felt that this post was actually written for me, because I've been having some kind of 'awakening' in the last couple of days, and a confirmation from that was a 2nd dream with Jesus. Only this time it was more personal and He was being more interactive with me. I know I am on the right track and I have been awakened with a pair of new eyes. My old self is gone and my new self is beginning to take notice of everything around me that I have not seen! Even my fasting is making me grateful for the life I have. I have total respect for those who do not have food and starve. I see that I am taking the initiative steps to choosing healthy foods. I am doing this for God and seeing myself transform in His presence! Julie, this post was written for me. I am very excited and I have trust in Him that He'll bless my dreams. I don't know when or how, but I am so excited! He never breaks his promises and I have total faith in Him. Thank you!

Thank you for the comment Bryan :)

I've never heard the saying "If it feels uncomfortable or strange, then you are probably on the right track." I started thinking about that saying in my head and the only way I could put it into perspective was that when we remain stagnant in our comfort zone we will never be able to live out God's plan for our life.

It takes moving out of our comfort zone and being exposed to the world around us for us to truly understand why we're here.

Seeking God in times when we don't understand our direction is the only way we're going to figure out our path in life. Even if the path we're on feels right, we still need God for direction and guidance.

At times we are placed in situations in life that are not of our best interest, and of course there is discomfort there, but if we aren't praying about direction or guidance, then we're not where we're supposed to be. Only God can get us where we need to be. He needs us to seek Him and we need to be patient.

Great post! I liked the points on habits. I have learned to be more aware of my habits in every way, even down to the little things. I think if we are more aware of them, than change is not so difficult. Since we have not allowed the habit to grow, it is easier to stop it.

I also have a saying that says 'If it feels uncomfortable or strange, than you are probably on the right track'. Things like praying for direction in life, praying with your spouse, or just trusting that God will take care of it. Going to God is the right and best thing to do, but it doesn't always feel that way..

I pray His direction and leading. It's interesting you talked about procrastination, because I recently taught on the principle that delayed obedience is the same thing as disobedience.
